COVID-19 Update from Eagle Ridge Golf Course

Update - 28th of March 2020 - Temporary Closure

We have received an update from Golf Australia that clarifies the Governments Stage 2 implementations, and unfortunately it means that Eagle Ridge Golf Course must close the golf course and facilities until April 13th 2020 – effective immediately.

While this is disappointing news, we support Golf Australia and the Australian Government’s decision in their efforts to minimize the spread of COVID-19 and more importantly to look after each other.

The clarification states that “based on the Victorian Department of Health and Human Services directive issued as part of the Victorian Government’s Stage 2 restrictions regarding COVID-19, all golf clubs and facilities should close as soon as practicable until April 13, 2020.”

Current Bookings

If you have a booking during this time please note that we will be calling to offer a refund or to reschedule your booking. You will not be able to play under any circumstances during this period.
We will do everything we can during this time to get your booking resolved as soon as possible.

If you have any questions regarding your booking please email golfshop@eagleridge.com.au

Future Bookings

At this stage golf will be available from the 14th of April onwards.

This is under the current directive, which per Golf Australia and the Australian and Victorian Governments may change at any given moment. An update will be provided should further changes be made.

Please be safe, look after each other, stay home where possible and we look forward to this settling down and getting back to the sport we all love.

Bunkers - Temporary Local Rule (per advice from R&A)
You may take a 2 card lengths preferred lie, no nearer to the hole, in the bunker. Please note the ball must remain in the bunker when taking the preferred lie.

Flagstick - Temporary Local Rule
The flag stick is NOT to be removed.
Remember: If any part of the ball is in the hole below the surface of the putting green, the ball is treated as holed even if the entire ball is not below the surface

Scorecards – Temporary Local Rule
Scorecards do not need to be swapped between players. You are to confer with your playing partner in relation to their score and checking that both scores are recorded correctly.

On behalf of the team at Eagle Ridge Golf Course,

Thank You

20th March 2020 - We love golf as much as anyone, we also love our mates who we play with and understand the importance of looking after each other. So for now, it's business as usual at Eagle Ridge Golf Course as we will be continuing golf operations and the Pop Up Brewery unless otherwise advised by the relevant authorities.

We all have a responsibility to stop the spread of COVID-19 amongst our community.  Eagle Ridge Golf Course will be increasing our current standards of cleanliness including the following guidelines until further notice.  It is likely these will be updated as the situation evolves.

Health Responsibility

We respectfully ask visitors and members to not attend the clubhouse or play golf if any of the following applies to you:

  • You have any cold or flu symptoms.
  • You have returned from any international travel in the past 14 days.
  • You have had contact in the past 14 days with any person who has been diagnosed with COVID-19.

For visitors, our normal refund policies will apply for those cancelling rounds of golf. Please see our website at www.eagleridge.com.au for more details.

During Play and at Check In (Recommendations)

  • It is possible there may be some disruption to some functions and/or catering at our facility.  There will be updates as the situation evolves
  • Experts recommend the minimisation of direct physical interaction with others.  For example, not shaking hands or kissing on the cheek.  Try and maintain a distance of up to 1.5 metres from others at all times, regularly wash your hands with soap and avoid touching your face
  • Wear your glove while removing the flag stick (or leave it in), or while raking bunkers
  • No hand shaking or fist bumps (despite how good that bogey putt was)
  • No dollar bets
  • Pay via ‘Pay Wave’ where possible
  • Social Distancing – recommendation of 1.5 metres, consider this when thinking about golf carts
  • If you need to cough or sneeze, it’s time to dab and sneeze into your arm not into your hands

After Play and Hospitality (Recommendations)

  • Our hospitality sections will be updated to include social distancing measures
  • Please leave keys in carts and we will clean the carts after use
  • Pay via 'Pay Wave' where possible
  • We will still have food service until advised otherwise, so please do not hesitate to come in for a feed. Just be mindful of how large your group is or the guests around you and chose your seating appropriately

The above recommendations are based on information from Golf Australia and GMA and are to be used as a guide only.
